Swim 4 the Reef is a not-for-profit organization committed to bringing global attention to the plight of the world's coral reefs. In early August, Paul Ellis, 61-year-old grandfather and former Marine helicopter pilot, completed a momentous swim from Cozumel to Cancun, 40 miles, to call worldwide attention to this global problem. More than 250,000 hits were recorded at swim4thereef.com during the swim, thus creating greater awareness of coral reefs and their deterioration. For more information visit www.swim4thereef.com.
